1: Former Glory and
The Great Sweater War

Few people know the origins of the sweater, its presence amongst our everyday winter wardrobe is often taken for granted. There once was a thriving tribe, who were briefly known as the sweater people, that lived in the city of Former Glory. This city has but one entrance whose form is shaped by two humble trees and is masked in the thicket of branches and leaves, this doorway is known as the Treegate.

The sweater people were in the midst of a great war and sought refuge in the depth of a mysterious forest. They began work developing an armor whose links were tighter than that of chainmail as well as providing warmth in the coldest of environments.

One day their city came under attack when their enemies found the entrance to their kingdom and came pouring through the Treegate. Their city crumbled behind them as they discovered that the mighty armor that they had forged, although it still kept them quite comfortable, now mysteriously provided little protection from the likes of swords and arrows. The enemy found the sweaters much to their liking and after slaughtering the sweater people they pillaged

every last one. The general from this war retired to the life of a merchant and popularized the sweater among commoners.

The Treegate grew wild with disuse as the only things that ever passed through it were the animals of the forest who found nothing but an overgrown forest on the other side. It was not until Sir Robbie stumbled through it, finding it's structure quite fascinating, that the city of Former Glory was restored much unlike what it had previously been. In the city he found Fair Lady Beth, his perfect bride. It was paradise and he would leave only grudgingly years later to spread the word of this wondrous place.
