1: The Curious Wife
Caught in a Net

There are two back country roads in Canada that are dismissed as legend but still entice the curious spirit or wandering fool. They are said to connect, but this is not the time or place to discuss such matters. The first of these roads is masked in mystery and illusion from an ancient time when giants

roamed these lands. There are three giants left now and the few that know of their existencerefer to them as The Collectors: Islington, Black, and Weston. It is said that every road in Canada leads to The Collectors and so it is difficult to tell where their road begins and ends. Others say that they exist in a magical realm which manifests itself in various locations along many roads.

There is another theory held by a reputable scholar and honorable man, David the Wise, which states that there is a particular exit off of Highway 401 that leads straight to their kingdom in the clouds. Upon entering, you will find that there is no exit and you are compelled to drive until the giants collect you in their nets, adding your belongings (and anyone unlucky enough to be in your car) to their bounty from the kingdom of man. David had no such desire to prove his theory but as fate would have it that is excatly where his journey began.

Emily should have returned two days ago and there is only one force that could keep them apart - magic. David somehow knew that she was in a far away land. Unfortunately he was right, she could be found amongst the clouds caught in the illusions of a country road approaching what she would soon discover to be a giant with a net. At the moment that Islington became clear it was not fear that captured her because she knew David would come to her rescue. But she had taken the car and all David had to his name were the clothes on his back, a mysterious box, and his books (which he would leave behind). The words "I'll return with my wife before the setting of the sun," rang in the air as he ran out the door with all haste.
